Giving the Gift of Hope

GIVING THE GIFT OF HOPE
The Annual Campaign

Dear Friend of the Cancer Support Community Central Ohio,

I am sure you agree that...

No one should face cancer alone...

And thanks to you, over 10,000 people did not last year! Generous support provided cancer wellness education, support, and healthy lifestyle programs for individuals, families, friends and caregivers. This year, we are asking you to consider increasing your tax deductible gift; you will see why as you read on.

Expanding community collaborations was a top priority in 2011. New programming at Nationwide Children's Hospital provides Cancer Support Community Welcome to Wellness at the hospital. In addition, we are building a grassroots program to support, educate, and connect adolescent and young adults (18-30 years old) and their loved ones. Your gift of hope will help us establish a network for young cancer survivors and help us provide special programs to enhance their psychological, physical and emotional health.

Cooking for Wellness at Gladden Community House provides cooking and nutrition education to help children and families learn about healthy choices and healthy eating. Our Wellness Chef provides healthy recipes using items from the Gladden Community House Food Pantry.

"Our family has learned how to use ingredients from the Food Pantry to create healthy, easy, and FUN family meals. We're healthier, stronger, and eating together as a family because of Cooking for Wellness at Gladden Community House." — CSC CO Participant

We are a Community unlike any other. More than 1.5 million people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. We understand how cancer affects millions of people and how it changes the lives of loved ones. That is why our programs are so vital: research continues to show that social and emotional support are critical components of complete cancer care and help to optimize quality of life.

"The most important words we heard were: Every cancer has a survival rate. We were stripped of our hope of survival until we met Cancer Support Community." — CSC CO participant

The Cancer Support Community offers support to all people with all types of cancer, as well as, their families and friends, so that no one has to face cancer alone. This is why we need your continued and increased support. Our programs are provided at no cost. You put the extra in extraordinary and without you, the extraordinary growth and profound impact in 2011 of the Cancer Support Community Central Ohio would not be possible.

Thank you for ensuring that no one faces cancer alone, WE'RE A WHOLE COMMUNITY BEHIND THEM!
